At Frontline Bikes Upcycling & Training Centre in Bluebell, Dublin 12, we provide upskilling and training with a City & Guilds levels 1 and 2 qualification in Cycle Mechanics.
Our accredited training programme provides individuals with a background of imprisonment, addiction and long-term unemployment with a pathway to recovery and employment in a non-judgmental and supportive environment.
Participants get an opportunity for reeducation and upskilling, along with aftercare support, counselling and key working from our in-house Prison Links worker and Addiction Practitioners.
Taking part in a training programme can have huge benefits for participants: along with providing stability and routine, learning new skills can help build confidence and hope for the future.
"After developing a passion for bikes and visiting the shop in Inchicore, I was told about the Bluebell training centre. Before I joined the training course I struggled to get work because of addiction issues and a criminal history. I'm now 5 years sober and the course has given me stability, structure and the knowledge that I want to be a qualified bike mechanic - it's the best thing I ever did." Training course graduate.
